Honourable citizens and guests of Ventspils!

This year there is a special atmosphere in Ventspils, because our city – tidy, blooming and beautiful, just as a city that has an anniversary should be – is celebrating its 720th anniversary. This summer we will have a lot of events devoted to the city anniversary – we will enjoy the atmosphere of the Sea Festival, we will be visited by bike-riders and kite-boarders, we will celebrate the annual City Festival, but on the 24th of July we will try to achieve the Guinness World Record by creating the longest flower carpet in the world together. Since this flower carpet will be a gift to our city, all the citizens and guests of Ventspils city are welcome to participate in the record attempt and help Ventspils bloom this year even more gorgeously!

I wish that we, the citizens of Ventspils, always feel happy and proud of our city and express hope that the guests of our city always have wonderful emotions of coming back!
